Election Symbols Issued To Candidates For NA-168 Bahawalpur By-Election
UrduPoint reports that the Election Commission has released the list of 20 candidates for the by-election in National Assembly (NA-168) Bahawalpur-V, allotting them election symbols. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had initially nominated Malik Munir Iqbal Channar, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) included Ali Haider Gilani, son of Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, among their candidates. However, under a seat-adjustment formula, the PPP withdrew their nomination papers.
Polling for the by-election will take place on September 27. The seat became vacant following the death of Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, an MNA from PML-N.
