Electricity Prices Raised Nationwide: Consumers to Face Over Rs12 Billion Additional Burden

Electricity consumers in Pakistan will soon face a significant increase in their monthly bills. According to a notification from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), electricity prices have risen by 52 paisas per unit for the second quarter of the current year.
This hike results in an additional burden of over Rs12.67 billion on electricity consumers across the country, including K-Electric customers. The increased charges will be reflected in September, October, and November bills.
Consumers will pay 52 paisas extra per unit each month for the next three months.
The notification comes after NEPRA’s approval of the quarterly adjustment, subsequently endorsed by the federal government.
