Emergency will continue until conditions improve, while imposing emergency or governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or Balochistan is not easy, according to legal expert Justice (retd) Shaiq Usmani.
While speaking on Sama news, he explained that the current situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan may require emergency due to potential further problems. However, he noted, imposing governor's rule or emergency in these provinces is not straightforward.
Here are key points:
- Governor's Rule: Can be imposed for a maximum of 6 months and requires approval from the President and a resolution passed by the provincial assembly.
- Emergency: Has no set time limit and will continue until conditions improve.
- Imran Khan and Power: Junaid Akbar, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President, stated that losing power could be a problem for those who rely on it for their livelihoods. He suggested the public would strongly resist any governor's rule or emergency imposed by the federal government.
