Envoy Tirmizi Highlights Role of Literature in Bringing Nations Closer at Moscow Library Event

Ambassador Tirmizi congratulated the Library Director, Ms. Marina Zakharenko, and her team on the opening of the new hall and praised their efforts in fostering literary exchange between nations. He also presented three books in Urdu and English to the library.
Referring to the popularity of Pakistani literature in Russia, he noted that works by Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Faiz Ahmed Faiz had been translated into Russian, highlighting the deep cultural affinity between the two countries. "Literature is one of the finest ways of bringing nations and peoples closer together," said Ambassador Tirmizi, emphasizing the value of cultural diplomacy.
The newly opened hall, marking the Library’s 105th anniversary, houses literary works in over 50 languages, including Urdu, solidifying its role as a global center for literature.
Attended by ambassadors and representatives from various countries, including Palestine, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, the League of Arab States, and the Chinese Cultural Centre in Moscow, the event showcased international interest in promoting literary exchange.
