European Commission Confirms Stable Oil Supplies

BRUSSELS (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM) – The European Commission has assured that the European Union faces no immediate oil supply disruptions, despite ongoing instability in the Middle East and volatile crude oil and petroleum product prices.
Following a meeting of the Oil Coordination Group—comprising experts from the European Commission, EU Member States, industry, the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Energy Community, and NATO—the Commission stated that supplies to the European market remain secure.
It highlighted that demand for jet fuel and diesel is being met through higher refinery production within EU countries, along with alternative sources from global markets.
However, the Commission cautioned that the Middle East situation remains precarious and geopolitical uncertainties continue to drive sharp fluctuations in crude oil and petroleum product prices, particularly for jet fuel and diesel. It noted that developments in the Middle East conflict, coupled with seasonal increases in energy demand during autumn and winter, could further pressure crude oil and petroleum product markets in the coming weeks and months.
The European Commission pledged to continue evaluating the impact of global market dynamics on Europe and to support coordinated action, when necessary, in collaboration with EU Member States, the IEA, and market participants to ensure energy security of supply and address potential disruptions.
