Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has made a bold statement, asserting that the upcoming street movement on September 27 will be a significant event with 4 million participants. He emphasizes that even with the deployment of 100,000 police and 100,000 troops, they won't be able to stop the people from expressing their discontent.
Speaking in Lahore during a media interaction, Afridi revealed attempts on his life, claiming that it has become a routine for abductors to use police vehicles. He declares that the current government is not permanent and that the tables will turn in politics.
"The next turn is ours," he states firmly, adding that every police officer present at the gathering was being recorded on camera. Afridi asserts that they will come to power through the people's vote, despite winning with 180 seats, as their victory was stolen. He promises unyielding accountability for those in power:
"When our turn comes, neither the woman card nor the illness card will work, and no consideration will be given to age. The thieves, plunderers, and robbers occupying the people of Punjab will be held fully accountable."
Rally Activities Continue in Lahore
Meanwhile, the rally activities led by Chief Minister Afridi in connection with the street movement have been ongoing in Lahore. He plans to depart again for the protest at 5 p.m., expressing his surprise at the spontaneous turnout of people despite no formal call being issued in Lahore the previous day.
Afridi criticizes Punjab Police for blocking routes, switching off lights, closing petrol stations, and obstructing their movement. Tents were removed from their rest areas, and workers faced arrest as they arrived. He emphasizes that the people of Lahore will turn out again today, urging the "fake government" and police to reconsider their actions.
The Chief Minister warns of a strong reaction if police conduct doesn't change, hinting at potential consequences after the ongoing session in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
