AJK PM Directs IT Board To Ensure Transparent, Efficient Public Service Delivery

Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani has directed the State Information Technology Board to leverage modern technology for enhancing public service delivery and ensuring transparency and efficiency in government services.

He made these remarks at a meeting of the IT Board held under his chairmanship in MIRPUR on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The Prime Minister emphasized that public service is a top priority for the government and modern technology should be used to streamline official procedures and make governmental services more accessible.

"Our focus is on public service. We need to take steps that improve and facilitate people’s lives," he stated.

The PM announced the establishment of a Complaint Cell to ensure timely redressal of public grievances, improve service delivery, and enhance the performance of government institutions. He directed authorities to create an efficient and transparent mechanism for registering, monitoring, and resolving complaints, providing citizens with a convenient way to file and track complaints without repeatedly visiting government offices.

Secretary IT and Information Muhammad Rashid Hanif presented updates on ongoing projects, including IT Excellence Centres, computerization of land records, and other digital initiatives. He also briefed the Prime Minister on the One Window Operation and proposed Complaint Cell.

Key attendees included Principal Secretary Sardar Adnan Khurshid, Deputy Secretary Malik Hamid Siddique, and other concerned officers.
