Faisalabad Resident Confronts Unexpected Expense
A Faisalabad resident found himself in a peculiar situation when he discovered a staggering Rs70,000 in e-challans while attempting to pay an electricity bill of Rs50,000. The citizen, in a media report, expressed his confusion and appeal for relief.
He stated that his household uses only three fans, a common household item, and questioned the validity of the 35 e-challans issued for helmet violations. The resident, a motorcycle repair shop worker earning Rs1,000 per day, emphasized his lack of awareness about these fines, emphasizing his adherence to traffic rules, including wearing a helmet while riding.
The issue arose due to the proximity of a bypass road to his home, which seemingly triggered the issuance of numerous challans. The citizen implored the government to show mercy towards the poor and consider cancelling the e-challans.
