FBR Holds Awareness Session On Easy Tax Scheme In Kohat

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) organized an awareness session on the Easy Tax Scheme in Kohat on Tuesday. The event aimed to inform the local business community about the scheme’s key features, registration process, and tax-related responsibilities.

Commissioner Inland Revenue Farooq Jamil, Deputy Commissioner Usman Asif, and relevant officials attended, followed by an online meeting with Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, FBR Chairman, and senior officials.

During the session, FBR officials detailed:

  • The registration process
  • Tax assessment procedures
  • Return filing requirements
  • Traders’ responsibilities under the scheme

They also addressed questions from participants and clarified various aspects of the program.

Business leaders present, including Rashid Ahmed Pracha (President Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Amir Khan Afridi, Nauman Bangash, and others, expressed support for the initiative but emphasized:

  • The need for transparency in the scheme
  • Business-friendly policies
  • Tailoring the program to the financial capabilities of small traders
  • Special relief measures for low-income businesses.

They underscored the importance of balancing effective tax collection with taxpayer facilitation and respect for the business community.

The participants praised the FBR for hosting the awareness program, believing it would help traders better understand tax laws and fulfill their obligations more effectively.

Trader leaders, such as Sadiq Ali Bangash, Baz Muhammad Khattak, Fayaz Afridi, confirmed their commitment to cooperating with the FBR in:

  • Simplifying the tax system
  • Improving compliance
  • Expanding the national tax base
