FAISALABAD (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Sep, 2026) - Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry has initiated steps to enrich Faisalabad’s literary and cultural scene by rebuilding the ‘Baithak’ at Faisalabad Press Club (FPC), providing a dedicated space for poets and writers to engage in literary pursuits. This move marks a new chapter in the long-standing partnership between FDA and the journalist community.

FDA DG Visits FPC

FDA Director General (DG) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, accompanied by Director Public Relations Faisalabad Maqbool Ahmad Malik, visited FPC. They were welcomed by Group Leader and former Press Club President Shahid Ali, President Muhammad Bilal Dogar, Secretary Shaukat Ali Wattoo, Senior Vice President Mian Kashif Fareed, Vice President Muhammad Kashif, Finance Secretary Rana Mohsin Farooq, Information Secretary Afshan Batool, Chairman Election Committee Mian Bashir Ejaz, and other office-bearers and members.

During the visit, the DG inspected FPC’s various sections and facilities, praising its role as a significant and vibrant center for journalists in the country.

He highlighted FPC’s comprehensive offerings, including a canteen, swimming pool, gym, sports zone, and free professional courses.

“I always feel a sense of belonging whenever I visit Faisalabad Press Club,” he said.

He also expressed satisfaction with FPC’s affiliation with the Washington Press Club, considering it a testament to its standing and reach.

Rebuilding the Baithak

The DG announced FDA’s plan to rebuild the ‘Baithak’ at FPC as part of its commitment to fostering literary activities in the city. This space will enable poets and writers to continue their creative endeavors and host intellectual and cultural gatherings.

FPC Leadership Appreciates FDA’s Support

Group Leader and former Press Club President Shahid Ali spoke of ongoing efforts to modernize FPC and enhance its facilities for members.

Press Club President Muhammad Bilal Dogar affirmed FPC’s dedication to the journalist community’s welfare and ensuring optimal services for its members.

Secretary Shaukat Ali Wattoo informed about ongoing projects to enhance journalist welfare and service at FPC.

Senior Vice President Mian Kashif Fareed highlighted the focus on expanding facilities and promoting journalistic activities at FPC.
