Fernandes had his home burgled while in Italy for Man Utd's Champions League game against Como on Wednesday.

It is understood his family were not in the house in Cheshire when it was broken into, and the intruders were inside for less than five minutes before police arrived.

United are understood to be supporting their captain following the break-in.

BBC Sport has contacted Cheshire Police about the incident.

Fernandes joins a growing list of players who have had their family homes burgled while playing for their clubs, including Manchester City's Ruben Dias and former girlfriend Maya Jama, as well as Premier League players Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, and Riyad Mahrez.
