Manchester United Humiliation in Como: Bruno Fernandes Critiques Michael Carrick's Tactics
BBC Sport reports on Manchester United's devastating 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League. Following the match, Bruno Fernandes publicly criticized head coach Michael Carrick's tactical decisions.
Fernandes, widely regarded as a football connoisseur, expressed his disappointment with the team's approach, suggesting that Carrick's staff should have shown more "bravery" under pressure.
He told TNT Sports, "It's a decision from the staff to not press man to man... sometimes when you give space to these teams they get confidence." When directly asked about Carrick's tactics, Fernandes added, "That's on the manager and staff to see, not me. Sometimes you have to be more brave under pressure, take the risk of pressing high."
Carrick, in his post-match press conference, responded curtly, "There's a little bit of whatever system you play... if you don't run, and you don't run forward, and you don't run back, you aren't going to win."
More details to follow.
