Fire Safety Inspection Conducted at Hyderabad Civil Hospital

Assistant Commissioner Hyderabad City, Syed Noor Hussain, and a Rescue 1122 team conducted a fire safety inspection of the civil hospital in Hyderabad and reviewed arrangements to manage fire emergencies and ensure patient evacuation.
During the inspection, the following issues were identified:
- Blocked Emergency Exits: Two emergency exits in the emergency department were found blocked and obstructed.
- Inadequate Fire Extinguishers: Insufficient fire extinguishers were present in the main emergency hall, Emergency ICU, and paediatrics nursery. Some extinguishers were expired or non-functional.
- Obstructions: There were obstructions along the fire emergency exit route, absence of emergency exit signboards, and lack of sand in fire buckets.
- Removed Extinguishers: Several extinguishers had been removed for refilling but alternative arrangements were lacking.
The Assistant Commissioner instructed the hospital administration to:
- Keep all emergency exits clear.
- Ensure the availability of functional fire extinguishers and safety equipment.
- Improve fire emergency and safety arrangements.
The hospital administration pledged to address these issues promptly.
