Fish Stocking Drive Launched In DI Khan
District Administration Promotes Fisheries in Indus River
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 10, 2026) The district administration has initiated a fish stocking drive in the Indus River to enhance fish breeding and boost fisheries locally. Following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Khan, Assistant Commissioner Dr Hamid, along with District Fisheries Officer, released a substantial number of fish into the river to support aquatic life and increase fish production.
Dr Hamid also convened a meeting with local anglers, emphasizing the importance of adhering to fishing laws and regulations. Anglers expressed their concerns during the interaction.
In response, the Assistant Commissioner promised to organize a meeting involving the District Fisheries Office, relevant contractors, and anglers to discuss and resolve these issues collaboratively. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders to safeguard aquatic resources and promote fisheries in the district.
