Founder Group Entering Election on Strength of Performance: Sardar Tahir
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Sardar Tahir Mehmood on Tuesday stated that the ICCI Founder Group is gearing up for the 2026–28 election with a strong track record of performance, practical initiatives, and tangible achievements. They intend to seek the business community’s support based on their accomplishments rather than mere promises.
The election for the ICCI Executive Committee for the upcoming term is scheduled for September 16, 2026. Sardar Tahir expressed confidence that the business community will recognize and endorse a leadership that has consistently strengthened the chamber’s role as an effective advocate and service platform for the private sector.
He emphasized that the Founder Group believes the true strength of a chamber lies in its performance, continuity, credibility, and delivery. During their current tenure, ICCI has intensified efforts to enhance the ease of doing business, streamline regulatory processes, and foster stronger connections between businesses and government departments.
The chamber has consistently addressed various concerns, including taxation, energy costs, CDA regulations, property matters, infrastructure, parking, business facilitation, and other challenges impacting investment and enterprise.
Sardar Tahir highlighted ICCI’s growing role as a business facilitation hub, facilitating engagement with government institutions, regulatory bodies, diplomatic missions, and international business organizations. These initiatives have established direct communication channels for businesses to resolve operational issues and access government services efficiently.
ICCI has also broadened its international outreach and commercial diplomacy, organizing business delegations, conferences, B2B engagements, and investment-focused events in significant international markets.
