Four Alleged Rapists Shot Dead During Ambush on Police
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 11, 2026) Four of the accused rapists were shot dead by their own gang members during an ambush on a police party on late Thursday night.
Police stated that the four suspects were being transported to the area where the alleged crime occurred for identification and investigation when unidentified attackers initiated indiscriminate fire upon the police contingent.
According to police, the four suspects, who were in custody, fell victim to the gunfire and perished at the scene. Police emphasized that no officers sustained injuries during the incident.
The deceased suspects were identified by police as:
- Amir, son of Iftikhar;
- Jalal (also known as Raja), son of Meraj;
- Chacha, son of Qadous; and
- Amdas.
Police revealed that these individuals had been arrested in connection with an alleged gang rape in Garhi Mosam Khan on Sunday night. The suspects are accused of climbing over a wall, infiltrating a residence, and sexually assaulting women at gunpoint.
A case was registered at Rehman Baba police station on September 6 under various provisions of criminal law, including sections pertaining to robbery, sexual assault, and the Child Protection Act. Police also recovered weapons allegedly employed in the crime from the suspects upon their arrest.
Female police officers have been tasked with maintaining communication with the victims, while counseling and psychological support are additionally being provided by investigators. In accordance with legal requirements, the identities of both the victims and suspects remain confidential.
Police stated that subsequent actions within the case will be determined by forensic findings and other evidence. An investigation into the shooting incident and the underlying sexual assault case is ongoing.
