Four Brick Kilns Demolished, Four Restaurants Sealed Over Environmental Violations
The Environmental Protection Department has intensified action against violations of environmental laws and smog control regulations to curb air pollution and smog.
Under the supervision of Deputy Director Environment Muhammad Rana, four brick kilns in Sahiwal Tehsil were demolished for violating environmental laws and smog control regulations. The demolished kilns included Baho Bricks Company, Al-Madina Bricks Company, Islami Bricks Company, and Hamdani Bricks Company.
Meanwhile, the department inspected six restaurants and barbecue points as part of efforts to control smoke and air pollution. Four restaurants/barbecue points were sealed for failing to install suction hood systems, while one restaurant was issued a violation notice. Another restaurant was found to have a suction hood system installed during the inspection.
Deputy Director Environment Muhammad Rana said strict implementation of environmental laws and smog control regulations was being ensured. He stated that indiscriminate action would continue against elements contributing to air pollution and smog, with no leniency for violations. He also mentioned that monitoring and enforcement activities would be further strengthened to control environmental pollution, ensure clean air, and prevent smog.
