Genuine Flood Victims Left Out Of Compensation To Be Facilitated On Priority: Riaz Khan – UrduPoint

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Riaz Khan on Wednesday directed the authorities to identify genuine flood victims in Buner who have been left out of government compensation and settle their cases on a priority basis.
He issued the directives while chairing a meeting to review the overall status of compensation and financial assistance for flood-affected people in Buner district, including completed, pending, and delayed cases.
Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Arifullah, and administrative officers from Buner attended the meeting.
The relevant officials briefed the minister on the progress made so far, pending cases, reasons for delays, verification procedures, and measures being taken to expedite the settlement of outstanding cases.
Riaz Khan directed the authorities to immediately identify genuine victims who had not received compensation and ensure that the prescribed financial assistance reached every eligible affected person. He stated that the provincial government aimed to provide timely relief and assistance to flood-affected people and directed officials to ensure complete transparency, merit, and strict compliance with rules and regulations.
The minister further directed the authorities to resolve cases pending due to missing documents, verification, or other procedural requirements on a priority basis and take effective measures to remove hurdles faced by the affected people.
