Tax Relief for Smartphone Users

Previously, smartphone users had to pay a substantial one-time PTA tax ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs250,000. This new development allows them to use their phones promptly by paying in easy instalments.

Benefits of the Change

In today’s tech-driven world, smartphones and the internet have become essential tools. Excessive taxation on these devices caused significant economic strain, particularly on young people and professionals. This change aims to alleviate those burdens, with plans for further concessions in the future to enhance accessibility to technology and digital devices.
