Government Forced To Provide Rs100 Per Litre Relief Due to Our Struggle: Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman

The government’s relief scheme will not affect our ongoing campaign against the petroleum levy, says the Jamaat-e-Islami emir.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Sep, 2026) Responding to the prime minister’s scheme concerning petrol prices, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman stated that the government had been forced to provide Rs100 per litre in relief as a result of their struggle.
He further mentioned that they would review the petrol relief for motorcycles, rickshaws, and small cars.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman clarified that the scheme wouldn’t impact their ongoing campaign against the petroleum levy. It may be recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided to launch a special scheme providing Rs100 per litre relief on petrol.
In a statement, the prime minister said he was fully aware of the burden rising oil prices were placing on the public. He announced a special scheme for motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi vehicles, and small cars.
