Governor Calls For Collective Efforts To Build Developed, Educated Balochistan
Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Tuesday stated that the vision of a developed and educated Balochistan could become reality through collective efforts. He emphasized the role of the government, educational institutions, teachers, parents, civil society, and every individual in achieving this goal.
In his message on International Literacy Day, the Governor highlighted the importance of education as the foundation for a brighter future. He praised the Balochistan Education Department’s achievements, noting an increase in the province’s literacy rate by 7 percent and the successful reintegration of 768,000 children into schools.
Jaffar Khan noted that literacy today extends beyond basic reading and writing, emphasizing the significance of digital literacy in the age of artificial intelligence and robotics. He called for equipping students with both traditional education and digital skills, scientific thinking, research, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
The Governor advocated for a comprehensive, uniform, and forward-looking national education policy based on scientific facts and practical needs. He stressed that such a policy is crucial for aligning Pakistan’s youth, especially in Balochistan, with global economic demands and technology.
He also addressed the challenges of poverty and unemployment hindering education in Balochistan, where many talented students resort to work due to financial constraints. Literacy, according to the Governor, empowers individuals by making them aware of their rights and capabilities.
He concluded that realizing the dream of an educated Balochistan requires support from international institutions, educational organizations, the private sector, and social institutions, not just the government’s efforts.
