Governor for Meaningful Representation of Women, Minorities in Decision-making
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Sep, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday emphasized the need for equal opportunities and meaningful representation of women and minorities in the decision-making process, considering it essential for social harmony, democratic stability, and national development.
He shared these views during a meeting with a delegation of the Minorities Rights Defender Forum, affiliated with the Association of Women for Awareness and Motivation (AWAM), at the Governor House. The discussion covered a range of topics, including:

- Political representation
- Youth participation
- Social inclusion
The delegation informed the Governor about their initiatives focused on education and coordination between marginalized communities and state institutions. They also proposed increased political representation for women and minorities, suggesting a minimum five percent quota for minorities.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party has consistently advocated for the rights of minorities, women, and marginalized groups. He believed that ensuring equal opportunities and active participation of these groups in national affairs is crucial for building an inclusive and progressive society.
