Governor KP Honours Nurse Who Saved Newborn In PIMS Nursery Fire
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday honoured nurse Razia Noreen with a cash award of Rs100,000 and a special shield in recognition of her bravery in saving a newborn during the fire incident at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) nursery.
At a ceremony held here, minority leader Samuel Pyare and PIMS Deputy Chief Nursing Officer Shazia were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said compassion for humanity was the hallmark of the nursing profession and praised Razia Noreen’s courage and dedication. He stated that her act of bravery reflected the highest traditions of the medical profession.
Governor Kundi also appreciated the services of healthcare professionals, saying their commitment to saving human lives deserved recognition and respect.
