Governor Kundi Lauds PCSIR’s Role in Scientific, Industrial Development
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 10, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi highly appreciated the contributions of the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) to scientific research and industrial development during a visit to the PCSIR Laboratories Complex in Peshawar.
Director General PCSIR Sohail Ameer Marwat provided an overview of the institution’s establishment, services, research facilities, ongoing Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) projects, and future plans. The Governor was briefed about various centres, including Medical Botanical, Material Science, Food Technology, Calibration, Engineering Services, and Dimension Stone.
Kundi commended the research and technical contributions of PCSIR scientists and experts, highlighting their role in advancing defence, engineering, minerals, cosmetics, and herbal products. He emphasized that PCSIR’s research capabilities are vital for Pakistan’s scientific and industrial progress.
During his visit, the Governor inspected products developed by different PCSIR centres and encouraged them to showcase these at exhibitions nationwide to promote Pakistan’s research and industrial potential.
DG PCSIR Sohail Ameer Marwat presented an honorary shield to Governor Kundi on the occasion. The Governor was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at the PCSIR Laboratories Complex.
