Governor, Parliamentary Secretary, Health Minister Discuss Promotion of Culture, Tourism & Reforms in Health Dept
Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Tuesday stated that Balochistan is a captivating destination for tourists from across the globe, boasting an ancient cultural heritage, historical sites, a lengthy coastline, and rare flora and fauna. He made these remarks during a discussion with Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Nawabzada Zarin Magsi, at the Governor House in Quetta. The conversation focused on strategies to enhance the province’s positive image, promote culture and tourism, and encourage native languages, literature, and arts.
Mandokhel emphasized that systematically promoting tourism and culture can attract investment and create local job opportunities. He urged the Provincial Parliamentary Secretary to organize regular seminars and cultural events to foster these sectors and support native languages, poets, writers, intellectuals, and artists from Balochistan. Noting his long-standing support for these communities, he expressed his commitment to preserving and showcasing the region’s valuable heritage.
The Governor praised the Balochistan Grand Tourism Festival held in Islamabad last year, describing it as a constructive initiative. He suggested holding such festivals periodically, with increased local television, music, poetry, and writing talent involvement, to ensure their effectiveness.
Later, Balochistan’s Health Minister, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, met with Governor Mandokhel. The meeting discussed the overall public health situation, performance of health centers, medicine availability, doctor and paramedic attendance, and ongoing reforms in the health sector, particularly the digitalized health information system.
Governor Mandokhel praised the implementation of digitalized health information, considering it a crucial step towards strengthening and modernizing the healthcare system.
