Governor: PM’s Interest-free Loan Programs Promote Women’s Economic Self-reliance
QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail stated on Wednesday that economic self-reliance among women is being fostered through the Prime Minister of Pakistan's program, which offers interest-free loans. This initiative creates a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs and provides robust institutional backing.
He explained that having an educated and employed woman within a family transforms its dynamics significantly, emphasizing the need for PPAF Head Nadir Gul Bareach and BRSP Head Dr Tahir Rasheed to extend their activities to rural areas.
These remarks were made during a one-day seminar held at Governor House, Quetta, on the theme "Sustainable Ecosystem for Women Entrepreneurs." The event was attended by:

- Deputy Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Ghazala Gola

The Governor highlighted the importance of:
- Enhancing access to education, skills training, financial assistance, technology, and markets for women.
- Empowering women economically to strengthen families, stabilize communities, and contribute to overall economic growth.
He acknowledged the obstacles faced by women, especially those from rural and marginalized areas, emphasizing the need for appropriate platforms, resources, and institutional support to help them realize their talents and entrepreneurial potential.
Appreciating PPAF's efforts in providing interest-free loans, he noted that these initiatives go beyond financial assistance, playing a crucial role in creating employment opportunities for women and promoting their economic independence. He also stressed the need to:
- Expand educational opportunities for women
- Provide professional training in public sector universities
- Establish the Islamia Women's University in Quetta
He expressed his intention to bring Pakistani investors and philanthropists from the United States to support this cause.
