Governor Stresses Skills Development and Media Literacy to Empower Youth

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, emphasized the need to equip fresh graduates with market-oriented skills, practical training, and employment opportunities during a meeting with a delegation from the Pakistan Youth Vision Parliament.

The delegation, led by its Chairman, Hafiz Huzaifa Shah, presented a survey report highlighting challenges faced by youth and new graduates in various districts of the province. These challenges included securing employment, teacher-student relationships, the spread of fake news on social media, and other issues affecting the younger generation.

Kundi stressed the collaborative efforts required between educational institutions, the government, and youth representative platforms to harness the potential of young people constructively. He noted that universities should focus on preparing graduates according to job market demands beyond simply awarding degrees.

The Governor also emphasized the importance of a positive and trusting teacher-student relationship for improving educational quality and fostering a healthy academic environment. He expressed concern over the increasing spread of fake news on social media and the negative impact it could have on young minds and society.

He advocated for promoting media literacy, digital awareness, and the practice of verifying information among students and youth. Referring to healthcare, Kundi highlighted serious challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, commending Sindh’s SIUT for providing free treatment without cash counters, a model he suggested emulating.

The Governor assured the delegation that their recommendations regarding youth issues, employment opportunities, and educational and social concerns would be forwarded to the relevant forums, with every effort made to address them.
