Govt Focused On Equipping Youth With Skills and Employment Opportunities: Rana Mashhood
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 30, 2026) Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan stated that party workers are invaluable assets, and the government is dedicated to offering youth across the country various opportunities in education, technical training, entrepreneurship, startups, and employment.
Addressing PML-N workers in PP-172 constituency, he acknowledged the local community’s issues and expressed his commitment to resolving them and completing development projects.
Rana Mashhood highlighted the empowerment of the party’s organizational structure, including its Youth, Labour, Lawyers, Traders, and Women wings, at the union council level. Coordinators appointed for different departments maintain constant communication to identify and address public concerns.
Regarding climate change, he noted its severe impacts, such as extreme heat, melting glaciers, cloudbursts, and unusual rainfall, posing new challenges. The recent floods along the China-Nepal border serve as a testament to these effects.
Discussing electricity issues, Mashhood mentioned the increased demand during hot spells putting additional pressure on the power system. He provided updates on transformer replacements in Lahore, especially in PP-172, to keep the public informed.
He assured ongoing work on roads, streets, sewerage, electricity, and gas-related projects within the constituency. In UC-93, 146 roads have been equipped with sewerage systems and inaugurated upon completion.
Skills development and employment generation are primary concerns, leading to special attention being given to these areas. A technical education institution in Sabzazar is scheduled to become operational by December or January after delays due to bureaucratic matters. He aimed to train at least 2000 youth from his constituency within six months, facilitating employment opportunities, including overseas roles. With private sector collaboration, the institution aims to train 10,000 students in six months.
Rana Mashhood also announced the allocation of seven dialysis machines at Rana Abdul Rahim Hospital in Sodiwal and four additional ones at Haji Ibrahim Hospital. Free medicines currently not provided by the government will be made accessible at these hospitals, and arrangements are being made to offer various diagnostic tests free of charge within the next two months.
