Govt Taking Steps For Welfare Of Disabled Persons Under Kumak Program: DG Saifullah

Director General Social Welfare Balochistan, Mir Saifullah Khan Khetran, on Tuesday stated that the Balochistan government is taking significant measures for the welfare, autonomy, and empowerment of disabled persons under the special instructions and vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti. He made these remarks while addressing the distribution of motorized tricycles to various deserving disabled individuals.

According to Khetran, all possible resources are being utilized to enable the disabled, making them active, empowered, and self-reliant citizens. He emphasized that the Balochistan government is committed to providing basic facilities, ease of movement, and opportunities for a dignified life, catering to the unique needs of society’s special members.

Khetran highlighted that the KUMAK program aims not only to assist the disabled but also to make them practically independent and self-reliant, allowing them to manage their daily lives better and actively participate in education, employment, and social activities. The distribution of motorized tricycles is a crucial step in this initiative, offering mobility support and alleviating their challenges.

He noted that the disabled are an integral part of society, deserving equal opportunities. The Balochistan government, through various welfare programs, is taking practical steps to ensure their dignity and independence, enabling them to live fulfilling lives without reliance on others.

During the event, Khetran distributed motorized tricycles to several deserving disabled individuals. These recipients expressed gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging that the tricycles will significantly enhance their daily mobility and self-reliance in meeting their needs.

Secretary Social Welfare Balochistan reviewed the distribution process and commended the ongoing welfare initiatives of the Social Welfare Department for the disabled. He stressed the importance of continuing these measures to ensure that the benefits of launched programs reach the intended beneficiaries effectively.

According to officials from the Social Welfare Department Balochistan, various activities are underway under the Kumak Program to address the challenges faced by the disabled, foster their active participation in society, and improve their overall well-being.
