Holidays End at Federal Constitutional Court, Supreme Court; Key Cases to Be Heard From Monday

The Federal Constitutional Court will begin hearing two crucial cases tomorrow, including a petition against Sohail Afridi before a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan.
Key Cases Scheduled for Monday
Holidays have concluded at both the Federal Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court, with significant case hearings set to commence on Monday.
Federal Constitutional Court Hearings:

Case Against Sohail Afridi: A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan, will consider a petition against Sohail Afridi. The petition, filed by Sher Afzal Marwat, also seeks the restoration of Ali Amin Gandapur as chief minister. Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi will also sit on the bench.

Prisoner Medical Facilities: The court will address a case concerning permission for other prisoners, such as former Prime Minister Imran Khan, to receive treatment at private hospitals. Again, a three-member bench, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, will hear this matter. Three prisoners incarcerated in Adiala Jail have appealed to the Federal Constitutional Court against an Islamabad High Court decision, seeking medical facilities for themselves on par with those available to Imran Khan.
Supreme Court Proceedings:
The Supreme Court will host a ceremony today to mark the beginning of the new judicial year. A hearing regarding Imran Khan’s transfer to Shifa Hospital is scheduled for September 16. Additionally, the court will consider the federal government’s review petition against the August 18 order regarding his hospital transfer, as well as a contempt of court petition on September 16. The Supreme Court’s website has yet to publish the regular cause list for the upcoming judicial week.
