Husband, Father-in-law Arrested For Beating Woman
Faisalabad, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Oct, 2026) The police have arrested a husband and her father-in-law for allegedly subjecting a woman to physical violence over a domestic dispute.
A police spokesperson stated that the accused husband, Shahwaiz, allegedly assaulted his wife Kainat during a domestic argument with the involvement of other family members.
Following the incident, SHO Women's police station, Madam Madiha Irshad, took immediate action and arrested Shahwaiz and his father Ajmal. The accused were locked up while legal proceedings were initiated against them in accordance with the law, the spokesperson added.
City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain emphasized that the arrested accused would be brought to justice and face punishment under the law if found guilty. He highlighted that the protection of women’s rights is a top priority for Faisalabad Police, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
He directed police officials to handle cases of violence against women firmly, ensuring victims receive protection and justice without discrimination. Domestic violence cannot be tolerated, he added, promising action against individuals involved in violence or abuse against women.
