Political Confusion Amidst Ex-PTI Leaders
In a post on X, former Sindh governor Imran Ismail expressed his political confusion regarding his own position and that of his colleagues who have left the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. He wrote:
"I am very confused, brother," he said, "[I don’t understand] whose traitor I am!"
Imran Ismail highlighted a peculiar situation where PTI supporters perceive them as traitors for leaving the party, while those in power believe they are sympathetic to PTI. He noted that his former associates, who were forced out of PTI, also share this confusion.
He further observed:
"PTI workers and supporters consider us traitors because they think we’ve joined the establishment."
"On the other hand, people in the establishment believe we are actually PTI sympathisers who repeatedly visit Kot Lakhpat Jail and file petitions in the Supreme Court seeking meetings with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi."
The former governor criticized the current political climate, stating that despite disagreements between the establishment and PTI on various issues, they both agree on one point: no significant leadership should remain within PTI. He concluded by expressing his deep confusion about which way to align politically.
