ICT Admin Seals 11 Sheesha Cafes After Enforcing Court Ban
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) The Islamabad district administration has intensified action against sheesha cafes across the capital following orders of the Islamabad High Court, sealing 11 establishments and directing strict enforcement of the ban.
Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon, assistant commissioners conducted raids in different parts of the city. The operations were launched after receiving information about cafes allegedly operating in violation of court orders banning sheesha services.
During the crackdown, authorities sealed three sheesha cafes in Sector E-11, six in the Soan Garden Civic Center area, and two in Sector I-8. Equipment and other materials found at the premises were taken into custody by the administration.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon directed assistant commissioners to continue operations against all establishments found violating the ban. He also instructed officials to take legal action against cafe owners who fail to comply with the Islamabad High Court’s orders. The deputy commissioner said implementation of the court’s directives would be ensured in letter and spirit. He stressed that no relaxation would be given to businesses operating contrary to the law.
According to the district administration, no-objection certificates (NOCs) previously issued to several indoor cafes across the city have been cancelled. Officials said the decision was taken to strengthen enforcement measures and prevent the continuation of shisha-related activities.
The administration further warned that legal action could also be taken against customers found present in illegal sheesha cafes during enforcement operations. Authorities said the law would apply to all those involved in activities that violate court orders.
The district administration appealed to sheesha cafe owners and citizens to cooperate with authorities in implementing the Islamabad High Court’s directives. Officials urged the public to follow the law and support efforts aimed at ensuring compliance with the ban across the Federal capital.
