Sajjad Ali Soomro Warns Police Over PTI Worker Abuse
Sajjad Ali Soomro, a PTI Sindh Assembly member, has issued a stark warning to senior police officials regarding the mistreatment of PTI workers. During a speech in the Sindh Assembly, he expressed his disapproval over the alleged violence and abuse faced by PTI workers during Sohail Afridi’s arrival in Karachi.
"IGs, DIGs, SSPs and SHOs, listen: if those responsible for [the] mistreatment of PTI workers are not held accountable, I am not Sajjad Ali Soomro!" he declared, as quoted by the PTI Media Cell Karachi Division.
Soomro demanded the immediate suspension of SHOs Shaukat Awan and Waqar Azim over specific incidents involving alleged assaults on Rao Azam and Aqeel Awan, and a case where a worker’s leg was reportedly broken. He also called for strict legal action against the responsible officials by the interior minister.
Emphasizing that no one is above the law, Soomro made it clear that those accountable for such injustices against PTI workers would be pursued at all costs.
