IG Sindh Bans Posting Of Constables, ASIs As SHOs, DIG Sukkur Issued Directives

Pursuance of directives by Inspector General of Police, Sindh, the DIG Sukkur Aftab Khan on Tuesday issued important directives regarding the posting of Station House Officers (SHOs) at police stations.
According to the release, the DIG Sukkur has directed that constables and other unauthorized personnel should not be posted as SHOs under any circumstances. There will be a complete ban on the posting of officials holding the rank of Police Constable (PC), Head Constable, and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) as SHOs.
The IG Sindh directed that postings of SHOs must be made strictly in accordance with relevant Police Rules and prescribed eligibility criteria. The concerned supervisory officer will be held personally responsible in case of unauthorized posting or retention of any official as SHO. Unauthorized posting as SHO will be considered serious negligence in supervisory responsibility.
All Range and Zonal DIGs and District SSPs have been ordered to ensure strict compliance with the directives. They have been directed to submit a compliance report within three days, including verification of any illegal or unauthorized postings of SHOs.
The IG Sindh has ordered immediate and complete implementation of the orders regarding posting of SHOs. It was further stated that any violation of the orders will be taken seriously and action will be taken against the responsible officers.
