IHC Disposes Of Contempt Plea Regarding Removal Of PTI Leader From ECL
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday disposed of a contempt of court petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader, Rauf Hassan after authorities removed his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Justice Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas heard the petition, with Rauf Hassan appearing before the court along with his counsel Ayesha Khalid. Deputy Attorney General Faisal Irfan informed the court that Rauf Hassan’s name had been removed from the travel restriction list.
The court told the petitioner that his name had been removed from the ECL and therefore the petition was being disposed of. Consequently, the court disposed of the contempt petition filed by Rauf Hassan over non-implementation of an earlier court order.
