IHC Summons SSP Operations on Alleged Arrest of PTI Activists
UrduPoint (September 16, 2026) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained authorities from allegedly harassing or arresting PTI leaders ahead of the party’s planned September 27 long march and summoned the SSP (Operations), Islamabad Police, for a response in the next hearing.
Justice Raja Inaam Ameen Minhas passed these directions while hearing a petition against the alleged harassment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s leaders ahead of the march.
Advocates Shoaib Shaheen and Riasat Azad appeared before the court on behalf of Malik Amir Ali and others.
During the hearing, Shaheen submitted that arrests and raids had resumed ahead of the long march, alleging that these were being conducted at the homes of PTI workers, with valuables and cash allegedly taken during these raids. He further stated that he himself was unwell but his family was also reportedly facing harassment.
He requested the court to restrain authorities from harassing and arresting the petitioners and fixed the matter for hearing next week.
Justice Minhas observed that the court would summon the SSP Operations Islamabad in person and restrained authorities from harassing or arresting Shaheen, Malik Amir Ali, and other PTI leaders. The hearing was subsequently adjourned.
