World’s Richest Person Elon Musk Moves Into Trailer in Tennessee

Musk is overseeing construction of a data center being built by his Tennessee-based company xAI, a report said.
SAN FRANCISCO, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) Tesla, SpaceX and other companies’ owner Elon Musk, the world’s richest person with a fortune of $900 billion, has revealed that he has moved into a trailer in the US state of Tennessee.
The world’s richest person is temporarily living in a trailer in the Memphis area, where he is overseeing construction of a data center being built by his company xAI. He spoke about his new home while appearing on a podcast.
“I came here today from the place where I am staying in Memphis, which is an Airstream trailer,” he said. Musk added that he would rather sleep on the floor of the new servers than travel.
Musk’s decision to live in an Airstream trailer is not surprising and is linked to his passion for space exploration. NASA used similar trailers to quarantine the Apollo 11 astronauts after they returned from their journey to the Moon.
SpaceX Chief Executive Musk generally prefers sleeping in his offices or staying close to them. After buying X, formerly known as Twitter, in 2022, he slept for several months at the social media platform’s headquarters in San Francisco.
Likewise, he lived for years in a rented $50,000 house in Boca Chica, Texas, located near SpaceX’s Starbase facility.
In a 2020 social media post, Musk said, “I have sold all my possessions and now own no house.” At the time, he sold his seven homes in California for around $130 million.
