Illegal Transfer Of 24 Kanals, 6 Marlas Forest Dept Land Cancelled

The district administration has cancelled an alleged illegal transfer of 24 kanals and six marlas of precious state land belonging to the Forest Department in Chak 244-TDA, Fatehpur, and restored it to the government revenue record, here on Tuesday.
According to official sources, Mutation No. 1382, through which the Forest Department land situated along Main M.M. Road, Fatehpur, was allegedly transferred, was cancelled on the orders of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Layyah, Asif Ali Dogar.
A detailed scrutiny of the revenue record revealed several irregularities in the alleged transfer of the government-owned land. It was observed that the land had been adjusted based on unregistered and unverified documents, and that the Forest Department, as the concerned government department and actual custodian of the land, had not been made a party to the proceedings.
Taking notice of the matter, the district administration cancelled Mutation No. 1382 and ensured its implementation in the official revenue record, thereby restoring the land to the government. The case relating to the alleged illegal transfer of government land has also been referred to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for further proceedings.
Action is being taken against the officers, officials, and private individuals allegedly involved in the matter, the sources said.
DC said government land was a national trust and no irregularity or misuse of public property would be tolerated. He made it clear that no individual would be allowed to establish an unlawful claim over government land or use state resources for personal benefit.
Dogar also directed the relevant departments to accelerate measures for protection of government land and eradication of corruption, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to safeguarding public assets and ensuring transparency in official affairs.
