Indonesian Consul General Invites Pakistani Industrialists to Participate in Trade Expo Indonesia 2026

Karachi, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) Indonesian Consul General in Karachi, Mudzakir M.A., invited industrialists from the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) to participate in Trade Expo Indonesia 2026, scheduled to be held in Jakarta from October 14. He emphasized the importance of progress on preferential trade arrangements between Pakistan and Indonesia, highlighting the significance of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

During his visit to KATI, Consul General Mudzakir assured that the Indonesian Consulate would offer special assistance to KATI’s industrialists in visa-related and other diplomatic matters. He noted that the upcoming trade expo in October would showcase a diverse range of products, including halal products, spices, construction materials, automobiles, chemicals, furniture, fashion, textiles, handicrafts, and more. Over 1,600 exhibitors from 130 countries are expected to participate.

The Consul General suggested that Pakistani industrialists could leverage Indonesia as a base for re-exporting products to international markets. He prioritized strengthening business-to-business (B2B) linkages between Pakistani and Indonesian industrialists and traders, assuring that the Indonesian Consulate was ready to provide all possible support in this regard.

Earlier, KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput stated that Indonesia’s exports to Pakistan amounted to approximately $3.44 billion, with palm oil being a significant contributor at $2.59 billion. Raw fibers, paper, and coal were also among Pakistan’s major imports from Indonesia. In contrast, Pakistan’s exports to Indonesia reached around $621 million, mainly comprising rice, raw tobacco, and textiles. Consequently, the bilateral trade deficit favored Indonesia by over $2.8 billion.
