Interior Minister Pays Tribute to Pakistan Navy on Navy Day
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Navy Day paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy, recognizing their services, sacrifices, and role in safeguarding the country’s maritime frontiers.
He said the day is observed to honour the contributions of naval personnel who have served the nation with commitment and dedication.
In his message, Mohsin Naqvi said Navy Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and achievements of the Pakistan Navy. He acknowledged the courage, professional competence, and commitment of naval personnel who have played a key role in protecting Pakistan’s maritime interests.
The minister noted that September 8, 1965, remains an important chapter in the history of the Pakistan Navy. He mentioned that during the 1965 war, the Navy demonstrated its operational capability and responded effectively to enemy actions. Referring to Operation Dwarka, he said the mission reflected the Navy’s preparedness and determination during a critical period of the war.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that the Pakistan Navy made history by defending the country’s sea borders on September 8, 1965. He said the force fulfilled its responsibilities and contributed significantly to the national defense effort during the war.
The interior minister also discussed the recent “Maarka-e-Haq,e-Haq” saying the Pakistan Navy remained alert and fully prepared throughout the situation. He added that the enemy did not dare launch an attack on Karachi, reflecting the Navy’s readiness and defensive capabilities.
He expressed pride in the Pakistan Navy, which continues to guard the country’s territorial waters and maritime boundaries. Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Navy, emphasizing that their sacrifices remain a valuable national asset. He highlighted that the services rendered by naval martyrs and veterans hold an important place in the country’s history.
The minister further noted the Pakistan Navy’s modern capabilities and professional standards as a source of national pride. He reaffirmed the nation’s respect and gratitude for the Pakistan Navy and its continued role in ensuring the security of Pakistan’s maritime frontiers.
