American forces resumed strikes against Iran on Tuesday, US Central Command (Centcom) has said.
Centcom stated that the US strikes were in response to "recent attempted attacks" by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent, the US attacks resulted in four fatalities, including a young child, and over 50 injuries during a wedding celebration in Sirik, southern Iran.
In response, Iran launched attacks on US military bases in Iraq and Jordan, as reported by local state media and the Jordanian Armed Forces.
Attacks were also documented in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The IRGC threatened that the US would "regret" the strikes.
By early Wednesday, Iran had retaliated with a barrage of ballistic missiles against a US Marine base in Jordan’s Aqaba, per Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency.
The Jordanian Armed Forces reported intercepting 13 missiles, destroying 10, and three falling in remote areas. No deaths or injuries resulted from the attack.
Similarly, Kuwait’s army announced its air defenses were responding to Iranian missile attacks early Wednesday.
Several explosions were also reported in Bahrain following Iran’s attacks, according to Iranian state media.
President Trump warned that if Iran retaliated, it would be hit again "at a much harder and higher level."
