ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2026) The polio vaccination campaign in the Federal capital has reached 92 percent of its overall target by the end of its third day, with teams administering polio drops to 413,113 children across Islamabad.
A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Uzair Ali Khan to assess the campaign’s progress, arrangements and performance. Officials from the district administration and health department attended the meeting and briefed participants on vaccination figures and field activities.
The meeting also reviewed measures for ensuring the security of polio workers during their visits to households. Officials discussed the progress made against the vaccination target and examined arrangements for addressing challenges encountered by teams in the field.
Particular attention was given to cases in which parents had initially refused to have their children vaccinated. The administration said field teams were continuing their efforts to engage with families and resolve refusal cases through direct communication, with workers visiting households and encouraging parents to allow their children to receive the vaccine.
Uzair Ali Khan urged citizens to cooperate with polio teams and facilitate their work during the campaign. He said that public cooperation was essential to achieving the goal of eliminating polio at the earliest.
The campaign continues across Islamabad, with vaccination teams visiting homes while district administration and health department officials monitor field activities, security arrangements, and overall progress. By the end of the third day, 413,113 children had been vaccinated, bringing the campaign to 92 percent of its overall target.
