IUB Student Secures First Position in National Seerat Essay Competition
BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 27, 2026) The Seerat Chair, Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), organized a seminar on the occasion of Rabi-ul-Awwal on the theme, “Preservation, Construction and Character of the New Generation in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).”
Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran chaired the seminar, while Dr. Mufti Muhammad Zubair Ashraf Usmani, Vice President of Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi, delivered a lecture highlighting the role of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) in the intellectual, moral, and character development of the younger generation.
Professor Dr. Sheikh Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies, and Professor Dr. Hafiz Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Director of Seerat Chair, thanked the Vice Chancellor and the distinguished guest for their participation and support.
Meanwhile, MPhil student of the Department of Hadith, IUB, Fariha Rashid secured first position at the national level in a Seerat essay competition organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. She was presented with the award and prize by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at a ceremony held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
University officials congratulated Fariha Rashid on her achievement and termed it a significant academic and national honor for the Department of Hadith and IUB.
