Jirga Held To Address Issues Of Darabans Residents
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 10, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Khan on Thursday stressed the need for prompt action to resolve people’s problems at their doorstep. He was chairing a jirga (traditional assembly) to address the issues of residents in Tehsil Daraban.
District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, officers from the district administration, heads and representatives of relevant departments attended the meeting. A large number of local elders, community leaders, elected representatives, and citizens participated, highlighting basic civic issues, public demands, and other concerns facing the area’s people.
The deputy commissioner listened to participants’ complaints and grievances and requested immediate updates from concerned officials regarding efforts to resolve these issues. He directed relevant departments to take swift, effective, and sustainable measures to address public grievances within a set timeframe.
DPO Ziauddin Ahmed assured attendees that all possible steps would be taken to safeguard life and property and maintain law and order in the region. The DC emphasized that providing basic amenities directly to residents, promptly resolving their grievances, and strengthening coordination between government bodies and citizens were top priorities for the district administration. He added that they would continue engaging directly with the public through such gatherings to identify grassroots-level problems and ensure their timely resolution.
