"I have eight basic questions for PTI over its false claim that it was not allowed to formulate a policy against terrorism," the Defence Minister said in an X post.
Questions for PTI and CM Sohail Afridi
1. You have continuously ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the past 13 years and were also in power at the Federal level. Tell us who stopped you from formulating a policy against terrorism? What policy obstacle prevented implementation of the National Action Plan? And what stopped you from convening meetings of the Apex Committee?
2. What government policy do you need to call a terrorist a terrorist, condemn terrorists coming from Afghanistan, and openly stand alongside the security forces against attacks on the Pakistan Army and the people?
3. Drone attacks were carried out by Afghanistan in Kohat in recent days, but why did your provincial government not openly condemn these attacks? What policy prevented you from doing so?
4. Firing and infiltration from Afghan territory target Pakistan’s border posts and soldiers. How many times have you formally protested or condemned these border violations by naming the Afghan regime? What policy were you waiting for?
5. What practical steps has your government taken over the past 13 years to eliminate illegal economic activities in your province that fuel terrorism, such as extortion, smuggling, and the business of non-customs-paid vehicles? If steps were taken, provide details.
6. Security forces fighting terrorism are embracing martyrdom every day. How many times have you visited their posts to express solidarity with these soldiers? And how many times have you visited the brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who themselves fall victim to terrorism and placed a hand of compassion on the heads of their orphaned children?
7. Why do you make the Pakistani state’s clear narrative against terrorism controversial and confusing through various tactics? Why do you not call the Khawarij ‘Khawarij,’ and why do you avoid condemning them by name? What policy do you need for this?
8. All these matters lead to only one conclusion: during your 13-year rule, you massively promoted corruption and looted the province’s resources with both hands. Your own national and provincial assembly members accuse one another on social media of looting crores and billions.
