King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Visit the Caribbean in Autumn Tour

BBC News reports that King Charles III and Queen Camilla will embark on an eight-day tour of the Caribbean from 27 October to 4 November. This visit, which includes stops in Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, and Guyana, aims to "celebrate the communities, cultures, and nature within the Commonwealth family."

This trip marks several firsts:

  • It’s the King’s first Caribbean tour since becoming monarch.
  • He previously visited Barbados in 2021 as Prince of Wales to mark its transition to a republic.
  • He also has historical ties to Antigua and Barbuda, having visited after hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.

Other notable destinations on the King’s recent travel include:

  • Bermuda in May, his first royal visit as monarch to a British Overseas Territory.
  • The United States for a state visit earlier this year.
