King praises Strait of Hormuz peace efforts at glittering banquet

BBC News reports that King Charles praised Oman's "noble efforts" in keeping the Strait of Hormuz open during a state banquet at Windsor Castle, hosted for the Sultan of Oman.

Oman, a key UK partner in the Middle East and situated along the Strait, was the guest of honour. The King, in his speech, highlighted the country's diplomatic role in the Iran conflict, seeking common ground.

The banquet, attended by 160 guests, featured a menu of pheasant and quince, along with a table adorned with elaborate candelabra and seasonal pomegranates from Windsor's gardens.

The King's speech, delivered in English with Arabic quotes, expressed his pride in Prince William's collaboration with the Sultan's son on an expedition project.

While Prince Harry, not a working royal, was absent, his recent interview in GQ, where he expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, garnered attention.

Wine was served, though non-alcoholic alternatives were provided for Muslim guests.
