Kohat Police Foil Drug Smuggling Bid, Bust Gambling Den

Kohat police have made significant strides in their fight against crime by foiling an alleged attempt to smuggle narcotics to Bannu and busting a gambling den. These actions were carried out on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal.
Drug Smuggling Bid Foiled:
During routine checking at the Muslimabad checkpoint, a team led by Jerma SHO Sohail Khan intercepted a suspicious Honda Civic. A thorough search uncovered 8 kilograms and 820 grams of charas concealed in hidden compartments within the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and a case registered for further investigation.
Gambling Den Bust:
In a separate operation, Gambat police acted on a tip-off and raided a gambling den, arresting five individuals involved in illegal gambling activities. Police seized Rs65,000 in stake money and five pistols from the accused. Legal proceedings have commenced against those held.
DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal emphasized the police department’s commitment to maintaining law and order, ensuring citizens’ safety, and tackling criminal elements through proactive operations targeting drug trafficking and other illicit activities across the district.
