Kohat Police Welfare Fund Checks, Commendations Distributed; Arms Smuggling Bid Foiled
UrduPoint (August 18, 2026) – In line with the directives of DIG Security Division Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sajjad Khan, a ceremony was held at the Security Police Lines Kohat on August 18, 2026. During this event, financial assistance checks and commendation certificates were distributed among police personnel under the Police Welfare Fund.
Attended by SP Security Kohat Division Maroof Khan and SP Headquarters Kohat Ruhul Amin, the ceremony saw the presentation of financial support checks to deserving police employees. Maroof Khan emphasized that police officers are a valuable asset, and their welfare is a top priority. He highlighted comprehensive measures being taken to ensure better education, healthcare, and a secure future for the children of police officers.
The event also included the awarding of commendation certificates and cash prizes to officers displaying exemplary performance.
In a separate operation, Kohat Police successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons into the district. Acting on strict measures against criminal elements and illegal arms trafficking, a police team led by SHO MRS Station Abdul Rauf Bangash searched a suspicious vehicle at a highway checkpoint. The search yielded 3 Kalashnikov rifles, 1 MP5-style pistol, leading to legal proceedings against the suspects.
DPO Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal directed officers to intensify operations against illegal weapon movement. He reaffirmed Kohat Police’s unwavering commitment to uncompromising actions against criminal elements, ensuring peace and law enforcement across the district.
